SIDUWEX is the site of the Sino-Dutch Centre for knowledge exchange on Intergrated Solid Waste Management.

The site serves two goals.
It supports the Asia Facility project as intranet and it supports knowledge building in the field of Integrated Solid Waste Management.

The Asia Facility project "AF07CH21" aims at making interactive films, developing curricula, train policymakers and waste managers end establish a centre for lasting cooperation between China and The Netherlands.
It is a cooperation between three Duch partners and five Chinese partners. It is supported by the Dutch and Chinese governments.

Knowledge building is organised within a "knowledge tree".
This contains:
-  Accounting and comparison methods;
-  Policy making and governance;
-  General waste treatment techniques;
-  Several waste categories with their own subdivision.
